Domestic Air Conditioning Service & Maintenance
Get maximum performance and efficiency from your reverse cycle split system. It’s the same as having your car serviced, to maintain a good running system. By having your air conditioner serviced on a regular basis you will notice the unit will perform better and will be more cost effective. It will also improve the air quality, reduce airborne bacteria and allergies. Therefore providing a healthier environment.Ensure that your air conditioning unit is serviced once a year to protect your manufacturer warranty.
Not having the required service may void your warranty.
Split System Steam Cleaning
Steam Clean : Single Split System.
For an air conditioner that is relatively dirty, if the air conditioner hasn’t been serviced for 4 or more years and is very dirty (ie with mould growing inside) then this price may increase. Involves steam cleaning the Evaporator and completely stripping the indoor unit, not just cleaning the filter like most other companies do.
We also use a steam cleaner to help remove any mould and get into the areas where most cleaning methods cannot (providing a thorough, environmentally friendly alternative to harsh chemical treatments).
Includes:
· Complete strip down and removal of casing indoor unit, including removal of drip tray where possible.
· Clean filters.
· Cleaning of external condenser coil.
· Coil clean the indoor evaporater. Complete Steam Clean.
· Check refrigerant.
· Temp check.
· Function check.
· Anti mould removal and clean all indoor parts.
· Anti Bacteria and mould spray.
Mould inside your air conditioner:
The most dangerous type of mould is the kind that’s hidden. Going unseen and undetected, it spreads rapidly throughout your room, exposing you and your family to countless health problems. If you do detect slight mold, at either mild to low moderate levels, you can remove it through thorough cleaning, exposure to sunlight, and through proper ventilation.
However, detecting and removing mould is far trickier with central air conditioning systems. Most people aren’t even aware that mould can and probably is inside your air ducts and vents. If you have several of the symptoms listed above, but are confident that your home doesn’t have mould, chances are it’s hidden in your central AC system. Aircon systems are one of the main mold producing appliances because they are a highly suitable environment for fungus. The high density of moisture and dust makes this a perfect breeding ground.
Ducted Service
Domestic Ducted Service:
Get maximum performance and efficiency from your reverse cycle ducted system. It’s the same as having your car serviced, to maintain a good running system.
By having your air conditioner serviced on a regular basis you will notice the unit will perform better and will be more cost effective. It will also improve the air quality, reduce airborne bacteria and allergies. Therefore providing a healthier environment.
Ensure that your air conditioning unit is serviced once a year to protect your manufacturer warranty.
Not having the required service may void your warranty.
Standard domestic ducted system services are $190 incl. GST and include:
· Cleaning return filter.
· Cleaning of external unit and coil clean the condensor.
· Check refrigerant.
· Temp check.
· Function check.
Cleaning of the Evaporator is not included, because of the work involved removing the indoor unit starters. This is possible and involves 2hrs of labour ( plus materials ) removing the supply and return boxes, re-installing them and resealing.
Exclusions not included in a standard service:
These are non-standard additional services that may also be required-More related to a Break down. Please see Menu/Breakdown !
Air Conditioning Regas
Regas of an Air conditioner: Split System or Ducted.
When regassing an air conditioner the correct procedures prevent the system from leaking again. All systems have 4 main connection points which the installer connects using a flaring tool when installing the air conditioner. These flares, if not flared properly or done up to the correct tension, may leak which is the most common reason for an air conditioner needing to be regassed.
If a system has been installed for a long period of time (over 5 years) the copper piping used in the installation is porous and eventually leaks the refrigerant.
A service teck may just “TOP UP THE SYSTEM WITH GAS” this is not the correct procedure if no gas is in the air conditioner. Only if the system is close to the correct Temp and pressure he/she may do this.
Breakdown/Leaking of refrigerant gas (unit is not cooling, common correct procedure):
- Recover any refrigerant or air in the system.
- Disconnect both ends of the interconnecting pipe work.
- Cut off old flares and reflare new ones.
- Reconnect both ends using a lube behind the flares.
- Tighten to correct tension.
- Nitrogen charge unit pressure test to prove system integrity
- Recover/vac down unit using vaccy stat – must be >400 microns.
- Weigh in correct amount of refrigerant and test run. Recommission system
